A Pair of Suspects Charged for Inmate Homicide of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
